How to identify a Kormos in Phasmophobia

Over the years, Phasmophobia’s ghost roster has grown, with new types of beings joining the hunt and being introduced as potential candidates haunting the map during your investigations. The Kormos is a later addition to the roster, so you may need some extra help identifying it.

Every ghost is unique, with an array of official evidence and other behaviors you can watch out for to have an easier time identifying them. All ghosts that weren’t around when the game first launched can be a bit trickier to catch, as you haven’t had as much time and experience dealing with them. If this ghost is giving you trouble, here’s how to identify a Kormos in Phasmophobia.

The Kormos has three official pieces of evidence you can watch out for and catch to identify this ghost, which are Ghost Orbs, Ultraviolet, and Spirit Box. This combination belongs only to the Kormos, although you may confuse it with The Mimic if you’re not careful, as there’s a lot of overlap. Here’s how to get all three pieces of evidence. Here’s how to catch all three types of evidence required for the Kormos.

EvidenceHow to get
Ghost OrbsLook through a Video Camera to spot Ghost Orbs, which are small, flying white specks. They only pop up around the ghost room, typically in just one specific spot, so precision is key for finding them. You can either hold a Video Camera and peer through it as you walk around the room, or set up some Video Cameras and return to the truck to check them from a safe distance away. Ghost Orbs sometimes take a bit to manifest, making them easy to miss, so be extra patient when testing for them and do your best to check all corners of the ghost room thoroughly to avoid accidentally overlooking them.
UltravioletUse any type of Ultraviolet light to find Ultraviolet marks around the map, mainly in or around the ghost room area. You’re looking for fingerprints, handprints, and footprints, all of which can be left behind by a ghost with Ultraviolet as one of its evidence types. Fingerprints and handprints can happen naturally, but footprints require a bit of extra work. The most efficient way to check for this type of evidence is to place salt in the ghost room and wait for the ghost to step into it. When they do, they may leave behind Ultraviolet footprints you can see using your Ultraviolet light.
Spirit BoxTurn on the Spirit Box and ask the ghost questions through it. Any response you get from the ghost through this tool means that Spirit Box is one of their official evidence types.

The Mimic has Ultraviolet, Spirit Box, and Freezing Temperatures as its official evidence, but this trickster ghost also always presents fake Ghost Orbs. This means you may get all the evidence for a Kormos but actually be dealing with The Mimix instead. Because of this, thoroughly and carefully testing for Freezing Temperatures is crucial when you think the ghost may be a Kormos, as this is the only way to ensure it’s not The Mimic instead.

In addition to the official forms of evidence listed in your journal, the Kormos also has an array of unofficial behaviors, patterns, and other such clues you can watch out for. These are entirely unique to only the Kormos, so if you study them closely, you can technically catch this ghost with no official evidence at all. Here are all of the unique behaviors the Kormos has outside of its official evidence.

There are plenty of other tricky ghosts that might be the real culprit if the behaviors and evidence you’re encountering don’t seem to line up with the Kormos. Next, you might work on checking to see if it’s an Obambo, a Gallu, or a Dayan.
